A full-time music student at Farnborough College of Technology, Joe lives with his mum and dad, Tony and Tania, and sister Hollie in Birch Hill, Bracknell.
Far from leading a typical student life, the talented teen played for thousands at South Hill Park's firework celebration in October, has had one of his tracks signed by a music management company and his videos are building a big following on YouTube, plus, he is about to play intimate show at South Hill Park's cellar bar this Saturday.
The Guide spoke to Joe to find out more about his life since BGT. He said:"I couldn't believe it. I was speechless at first. I went into the competition not expecting to win, but just to get some performance experience.
"Winning BGT has given me so much confidence to perform & write more music. With my winnings I bought a new branded baby/travel guitar. It's got an awesome sound and has become my new best friend who I hate to be without. My dad's created a soundproof studio for me from our garden shed. I can make as much noise as I want to.
"I've been told I have a great tone to my voice and it is quite unique. My style is likened to Ed Sheeran which is awesome, but I do like to mix things up a bit and add other dimensions to my music."
Of his forthcoming cellar bar gig, Joe told us he will perform a number of covers mixed with his own songs - written about his life at school, family holidays and growing up as a young male in the UK. He explained: "I'm a bit nervous, but I really do want to make the most of this opportunity. I don't know of many other 16-year-olds who get to headline their own gig. I don't think people will be disappointed. There's something for everyone."
