Chris Buggy will undertake a 3km combined swim and run challenge at Dinton Pastures Country Park in Hurst, which he manages in his role as countryside co-ordinator at Wokingham Borough Council.
Mr Buggy was inspired to take on the challenge after a colleague was recently diagnosed with cancer.
Mr Buggy said: “I have committed to this challenge to support a cause that is close to all of our hearts. The challenge is difficult for me but it’s nothing compared to what sufferers go through. I hope we can pull together and have some fun and donate to this fantastic charity.
He will complete the challenge on Saturday, May 3, while wearing a ‘mankini’ thong, the man’s swimsuit, made famous by the film Borat, starring Sacha Baron Cohen.
He joked: “I am available for modelling on a commission basis although my portfolio is somewhat limited to these swimwear shots!”
Cllr UllaKarin Clark, mayor of Wokingham borough, said: “I am very happy to support Chris in his quest to raise money for Cancer Research UK. His choice of swimming attire in a flattering shade of green is certainly original and I wish him every success.”

He will do the challenge at the Dinton Uber Swim, which includes swimming parts of the Black Swan and White Swan lakes at the country park and running in between.
Members of the public can chose a 1.5km or 3km course involving a mixture of swimming and running. It is organised by Dinton Activity Centre in partnership with Barnes Fitness, a coaching company.
