Ms Paver visited The Emmbrook School in Wokingham, where she gave a talk to Year Six and Seven from local schools. She brought along artefacts from her travels.
Ms Paver spoke about the latest book in her series Gods and Warriors, which is set in the Bronze Age and is called The Burning Shadow.
Elizabeth McDonald, reader development officer for young people and families for Wokingham borough libraries said: “It was a really good session; all the students really enjoyed it. She gave a talk about the latest book in her series, and she explained all the research that went in to it.
“She brought along different artefacts she had used as part of her story, such as a whale’s tooth.
“She also spoke about the time she spent with lion cubs as research for the story.
“A lot of the students had read the first book so they were really interested. I think it was also good for them to meet a real-life author and see all the work and research that goes in to making a book!”
The visit last Wednesday was organised by Wokingham libraries and Puffin books
Other schools that attended the talk, as well as the Emmbrook schools, were The Holt School, Bearwood College, Shinfield St Mary’s Juniors, Shinfield, Waverley Prep School, Finchampstead Primary, Dolphin School in Hurst, Waingels College and Bulmershe School.
