Bloom judges inspect Wokingham's bid

THE judges were in town as Wokingham's first ever entry into the Thames and Chilterns In Bloom contest was studied.

The bid was organised by Wokingham Town Council, and the judges were shown round some of the most beautiful parts of Wokingham, including the Market Place, Holt Copse and Rose Street.

Businesses and residents had backed the scheme by buying hanging baskets to brighten up the town centre and the judges were greeted with glorious sunshine.

Schools, Scouts and many other groups - including Wokingham Horticultural Association - did their best to have the town looking as good as possible.

The winning entries will be revealed on September 18.
