A CYCLING tour to promote bike safety in Berkshire begins tomorrow (July 11).

Staff from Wokingham Borough Council will set off from the Market Place at 11am on a three-day, 150-mile trip to raise awareness of cycling safely.

Information about cycling and staying safe on the road will also be available for the public.

Jill Bissell, cycle training co-ordinator, said: "Raising awareness of how to keep cyclists safe on our roads, especially as more people are using bikes, is a priority in our road safety programme and our cycle team are pleased to be able to take part in the tour this week.

"Along with our extensive Bikeability training programme for children, we are now offering both adult training and family rides this summer which are detailed on the Urban Limits website, as part of the tour of Berkshire."
