Firefighters attended a smash in Ascot last night which injured three people.

Two cars were involved in the collision, which happened outside Heatherwood hospital.

They were called at 10.10pm to London Road, Ascot, where they helped remove the car doors to gain access to the occupants.

Watch Manager Gary Nash, from Bracknell, said: “They undid the doors, but they didn’t use cutting equipment.

“They were put on spinal boards.”

Michelle Archer, communications manager for the ambulance service, confirmed they were called to the scene at 9.38pm last night, and sent three ambulance crews and a rapid response vehicle.

She said: "They were treated and assessed at the scene by our crew, and two people were taken to Frimley Park Hospital, and one was taken to the Royal Berkshire."

The fire service remained on the scene for roughly an hour.
