Motorists are reminded over road closures as a convoy of bikers take to the streets this weekend (Sunday December 8).

Hundreds of bikers are taking a leaf out of Santa’s book with the 28th annual Reading Christian Bikers Toy Run, on Sunday December 8.

The decorated convoy sets off from Foster Wheeler in Shinfield Park at 2pm, before riding through Whitley Wood Lane, Lower Earley Way between the Black Boy roundabout and the Showcase cinema, and the A329 through Shute End and Rectory Road, onto the drop-off point at Wiltshire Road.

Motorists are advised delays should be expected along this route from 2 - 3.30pm.

The bikers are bringing toys and gifts to be donated to children and young people.

Do they have to close the roads for this? Plenty of people give toys to charity at this time of year without causing major inconvenience to people who live in the area, use the road and get stuck for an hour in the cold while this lot hold a fashion parade. This ride is about the bikers not the charity!
