A SUNNINGHILL hotel was evacuated after a fire started in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).

Firefighters from Bracknell and Egham were called to the Royal Berkshire Hotel, in London Road, Sunninghill, at about 4am.

They dealt with a small fire on an external balcony - believed to have started in a plant pot - which had triggered the alarm - causing guests to gather outside.

The crews were at the venue for about 20 minutes.
