Between 10.30pm on Monday (June 10) and 6am the following morning a garage and shed were broken into in Kelvin Close. Thieves escaped with several items, including a boy's bike.

At the same time, offenders busted a padlock to the garden of a property in Valon Road, stealing electric tools from the unlocked shed.

A second shed was broken to in the same road between 1pm on the Monday and 8.30am the next day. Nothing was stolen.

Police also received a number of calls overnight - from Monday to Tuesday - after three vehicles were damaged in Mabbett Close and paint sprayed on the walls of several houses in Valon Road and Hill Road.

Lastly, a bounty of booze was taken from Spar in Venning Road at about 3am.

The shop's alarm was activated and officers, the Ministry of Defence police and a dog unit searched the area - making one arrest.

Inspector Greg Elphick said: "There has been a spate of incidents in the Arborfield area and we are investigating to see if there may be links between them.

"We have arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with a burglary at the Spar shop and criminal damage to vehicles in the Mabbett Close area. He has been released on bail until July 11 to allow enquiries to continue.

"I would encourage residents to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious to police."

If anyone has information on any of these incidents, or details of who may be responsible, please call PC Monika Taranczewska at Loddon Valley police station via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101.
