The formal identification took place early this afternoon (Wednesday).
The 39-year-old (pictured) was diabetic and lived in Fleming Close, Arborfield and was married to a Ministry of Defence Employee who worked at the Arborfield Garrison.
Craig Evry, Thames Valley Police spokesman, also told the News that officers investigating the case have been granted a 36-hour extension to keep a 30-year-old man, from the Arborfield area, in custody.
He was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) on suspicion of murder and will be detained until Friday morning.
A post-mortem carried out later that same day ruled the cause of death as asphyxiation.
A spokesman for the Arborfield Garrison said: "It is with deep sadness that the community of Arborfield Garrison learned of the tragic loss of Krishnamaya Mabo, the wife of a Ministry of Defence employee, serving within the Garrison.
"Naturally our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this difficult time."
