AN OVERVIEW of the past year will take place at an annual parish meeting in Priestwood, Bracknell.

Cllr Shelagh Pile, town mayor (pictured) will host the Bracknell Town Council event, discussing the work she and fellow councillors have undertaken throughout the past 12 months and also asking residents to share their thoughts.

She said she will be encouraging attendees to ask questions before she steps down as mayor after a year in the post.

A cheque will also be presented to Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue (SEBEV), for which Cllr Pile has been raising money for since last May.

Town clerk Russell Reeve said: "The annual town meeting is a great opportunity for local electors to question the council about its services.

"Motions may be made and voted on by electors and those passed must, by right, be discussed at the next meeting of the full council, however they are not binding on the council.

"Bracknell Town Council welcomes the opportunity to hear from local people what they think of its services."

The event will begin at 7.30pm on Tuesday, May 14, at Braybrooke Recreation Hall, off Makepiece Road, Priestwood.
