Police were called to the park, in Yorktown Road, shortly before 1.30pm, where the girl was playing in the park.

The woman attempted to walk away with the girl but she returned when her mother called for her. The child was not injured during the incident.

Police are making enquiries to establish the circumstances of the incident.

The woman was white, aged in her late teens to early 20s, of slim build, 5ft 5ins tall, with light blonde hair styled in a pony tail, and was wearing a white vest top and light-coloured shorts.

Inspector John Goosey, Bracknell's deputy local police area commander, said: “I would like to reassure the community that we take all reports of suspicious incidents seriously and are investigating those reported to us.

“This appears to be an isolated incident however, if someone does experience anything similar I would ask they report it to police immediately.

“Officers are investigating the incident and neighbourhood officers will be in the area to reassure members of the public. If anyone has any concerns please speak to an officer.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting URN 699 of 29/7, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
