A team from Fibre Technologies Ltd was among the daredevils who jumped down the side of Bracknell and Wokingham College in Church Road, Bracknell, to raise sponsorship for the Red Cross.
Oliver Lacey, 23, was one of five from the firm in Duke’s Ride, Crowthorne, who went over the 130ft edge on Sunday, March 30.
He said: “It was a really great experience and I would recommend it to anyone. I’ve never done something like that apart from when I was a kid.
“There was an excited nervousness in the air, and as more people looked over the edge the atmosphere quietened. The views were quite nice up there, although I was trying not to look down!”
It took Mr Lacey, a sales executive, about 10 minutes to reach the bottom, where his mum was waiting, on what was Mother’s Day. He added: “She was a bit worried! We had a few mums come along.”
The others who took part were directors Ian Hunt and David Taylor and Mr Taylor’s children Emily and James.
The team raised £500 out of a total of £8,000 generated in sponsorship.
Campbell Christie, principal at the college, said: “Having completed the abseil myself in 2012 I can say that you get a great view of Bracknell and its lovely countryside from the top of our iconic building.”
