The housing development – which will be made up of nine two and three-bedroom properties in Wellington Road – aims to provide much-needed family homes in the village.
Four of the new properties are three bedrooms and for shared ownership sale, while five will be two bedrooms and available for rent.
Crowthorne ward councillors Jim Finnie and Bob Wade, who both live in Coleridge Close, were among those celebrating the work with staff from Bracknell Forest Homes (BFH) earlier this month. Chris Withnall, development and assets director for BFH, said: “This scheme, which is the latest in our expanding development programme, will make an important contribution to meeting the high demand for affordable family homes in Crowthorne.
“As well as this scheme at Wellington Road, we are currently building the borough’s first extracare scheme for older people at Garth Hill near Bracknell town centre, and we are about to start work on two smaller flatted developments in Bullbrook.”
The homes are being built by RJ Leighfield and Sons, and are due to be completed by the end of the year.
The development is jointly funded by Bracknell Forest Homes and the Homes & Communities Agency.
Cllr Dale Birch, executive member for adult services, health and housing at Bracknell Forest Council, said: “Bracknell Forest Homes have an excellent track record of delivering high quality homes for local people.
“These homes will be available both to those who aspire to home ownership and those who need rented accommodation.”
