AN elderly woman in her 70s had to be freed by firefighters after she became stuck behind a door.

A crew from Bracknell fire station were called to a flat in New Road, Crowthorne, after the woman's mobility scooter - which had run out of battery - became lodged behind the door.

The crew managed to lever the obstructing door off its hinges using a crowbar and then helped the woman to her living room.

Firefighters arrived at the scene at about 9am and left after 30 minutes.
