A kind-hearted caravan owner from Priestwood is working with the Bracknell News to provide an extra ray of summer sunshine to a deserving family.
The trip, worth £650, is available between August 25 and September 1, and is at Selsey, on the Bunn leisure site near Chichester.
The generous donor, who does not wish to be publicly identified, said: “My dad and I own the caravan and would like to let it out that week to help someone less fortunate.
“We would like readers to nominate someone in need – a family of up to six – that could do with a break away.”
The owner decided to make the offer after talking to parents in a school playground. He said: “We appreciate there are people out there who can’t get away during school time and can’t afford the premium rates that are charged during the summer holidays. It would be nice to allow a family in need to use it and we want to find somebody who would gain from a break.”
He described the venue as “brilliant” and added an on-site entertainment package will be included.
He said: “It’s a really nice destination, an award-winning site with a multitude of entertainment. It’s really family orientated and the people who win it will want to go back.
“It’s very comparable to Butlins because it’s got swimming pools, entertainment complexes, family shows and kids shows, and a fun fair.
“There’s loads to do and loads to see down there.”
He added the caravan park is only an hour and a half from Bracknell by car, and trains and buses also run to nearby Chichester.
The only requirement for anyone who wishes to take the holiday or to nominate someone will be for a refundable £75 security deposit. This will be refunded after checkout subject to no spillages, damage or breakages to the caravan.
The closing date for nominations is Friday, July 4.
