Roadworks arrive just in time for Royal Ascot!

RESIDENTS face lengthy delays after a water company has closed a stretch of road to repair a sewer during Royal Ascot week.

Thames Water initially only closed one lane of traffic when its engineers started repair work on a 85m stretch of pipe in Lyndhurst Road, South Ascot, on June 2, using temporary traffic lights to control traffic flow.

However, the company noticed that larger vehicles using the road to make deliveries to Ascot Business Park were mounting the pavement just to pass through.
