It has been listed along with five other schools in the secondary school category, with the winners to be announced on May 22.

More than 360 schools entered the annual awards, and those with the best innovative ideas for raising standards in the classroom will each win £10,000 to implement their plans.

Brakenhale, based in Rectory Lane, Bracknell, was shortlisted for its idea to continue transforming the Technology department.

The school would like to purchase a 3D printer or laser cutter to allow students to develop their design and engineering skills.
