Daruchini, based in Forest Road, Binfield, was listed in the AAA Guide of Excellence for 2014.
Finding out last week, senior manager Ranu Miah – who has run the Bangladeshi and Indian restaurant for the past five years – says he and his staff were ‘proud’ to have been recognised for their cuisine.
Mr Miah said: “We’re so pleased, and I’m very excited. We have been working hard here for a long time. My chef, staff and managers are so happy to receive the award, I’m proud of them.” He added the award followed a ‘mystery shopper’ coming into the restaurant – and he has no idea which customer was secretly judging the restaurant.
He added: “They sampled the food, but they were also were checking out the service, the selection, cleanliness and the atmosphere.
“We have special Bangladeshi and Indian food, and lots of dishes which are all cooked authentically, the ‘home cooking’ style we enjoy back home.
“I think that’s why we have been recognised, we have a great selection and are serving quality dishes.”
The listing on the AAA guide describes the food as ‘bursting with flavour and plentiful and served up with a smile by the staff.’
He added they had received the award once before – and will be working extra hard to ensure they are awarded the same rating next year.
He added: “We want to work even harder to make sure they continue to list us next year.
“Our customers have seen the certificate and they’re really happy.
“We hope this will be the first of many awards, we will continue to keep the standards high.”
