Wokingham residents will have the chance to get involved in naming new streets.

Two community forums are being held on the major developments in north and south Wokingham.

The meeting covering the north will be held on Monday January 20, at Wokingham Town Hall, Market Place, Wokingham.

It will be a chance to find out about progress on developments in the area, and the next steps to agree a route for the North Wokingham Distributor Road, following the consultation last year.

The meeting covering the south will take place on Wednesday January 29, Wokingham Methodist Church, Rose Street, Wokingham, from 7pm.

The event will focus on transport issues, and will include presentations from David Wilson homes on the work at Montague Park, off London Road.

The study of the various route options for the South Wokingham Distributor Road, is not complete so will not be discussed at the meeting.

Another forum will be held on this subject in the near future.

Both meetings will also inform residents of how new road names are decided, and how residents can get involved in choosing road names in the future.

The major developments are North of Wokingham, South of Wokingham, around Arborfield and South of the M4 (Shinfield, Spencers Wood and Three Mile Cross).
