Some real life toyshop workers are ‘elfing out Santa by wrapping presents for charity.

Five workers from Mattel, a toyshop based in Maidenhead, spread some festive magic by helping charity First Days, based in Wokingham.

They took two hours to wrap more than 100 presents for children, on Tuesday December 3, at Station Road, Wokingham.

Founder of the charity, Emma Cantrell, said: “It’s so tight for families up until Christmas, some have to choose between Christmas dinner and presents. We’re hoping this will make a huge difference and make Christmas a little more enjoyable.”

Mattel workers volunteered to wrap presents of puzzles, toys and games, aimed at the under fives.

This was the first year they had run the campaign, and Mrs Cantrell added that the generosity of the community had been absolutely wonderful, and they would definitely run it again next year.

First Days works with disadvantaged families across Wokingham Borough.
