Students from the The Forest School, Robinhood Lane, Winnersh, designed an interactive revision aid for their GCSE ICT exams.
The CD was designed as a tool for GCSE Cambridge Nationals ICT theory topics, and allows the user to access the whole syllabus from a PC or laptop.
The study aid was created by former Forest sixth form students Greg Palmer, former Head Boy and studying at Cambridge University, and Alexey Lebedenko, currently at the University of Warwick studying Computer Science, along with the support of the school’s ICT Subject Leader, Mr Reddish.
It was also created in partnership with Forest Design, which is a group of Year 11 students who in their spare time have develop their business skills.
Mr Reddish said “Given that revision books are often very wordy and cost in the region of £20, which is far too expensive for many students, the group came up with something which was more appropriate to their peer group. We have already sold a large number to Forest students and their parents. If any one outside the school would like a copy of the CD, it costs £5. Given the amount of content, we think this product is outstanding value for money.”
