Sunninghill & Ascot Parish completed a £45,000 project earlier this year to widen and resurface the access road to Victory Field Recreation Ground in London Road, which was completely funded by the Royal Borough.
An extra one metre was added to the entrance, while the car park was increased by half to house 40 vehicles.
The parish council, which maintains the ground, approached the Royal Borough late last year after residents called for a safer way into the park and more parking spaces.
The new road surface will be more durable and will improve driving conditions, especially during wet weather.
Cllr Geoff Hill, cabinet member for highways and transport at the Royal Borough, said: “Victory Field is becoming an ever more popular venue for a range of sports and activities including football, tennis and skateboarding.
“It’s also a great place for dog walking, picnics and the recently installed fitness equipment for adults.”
Cllr Jeffrey Yong, parish council chairman, said: “We are grateful for the borough’s support in helping to improve Victory Field.”
