Past and present members of the Ascot Inner Wheel tucked into a two-course buffet to celebrate the event at Carnation Hall in Winkfield last Wednesday.
Member Anne Avens also made a commemorative cake to mark the occasion, which also saw members of other Inner Wheel groups in the Thames Valley come to the event.
Retired opera singer Patricia Purcell entertained the group with tales of her life backstage and also while on tour. The group also continued doing what they do best and raised the three-figure cash sum through a raffle, the lunch tickets and a few generous donations.
President Val Wetherell said: “I was delighted to welcome more than 80 guests from both the locality and from other Inner Wheel clubs in the Thames Valley and surrounding areas.
“The money raised will be held in our charity account and used to support various local causes.”
The group has not yet decided where the money will be used.
